Why use a personal chef? There is a common misconception that personal chefs are unaffordable for the average person. If you do the math, you'll see that having a personal chef can actually save your money and priceless time.
Americans tend to resort to eating outside of the home 4-5 times per week, which is associated with obesity from foods higher in calories, sodium, sugar, and bad fats. It also costs more than cooking at home and you have no control over the quality of the ingredients.
For those who cook at home, the USDA estimates that a family of four would spend on average $250 a week. Plus, time spent grocery shopping (1-2 hours), meal prep and clean up (1-2 hours each night), and gas money to and from the grocery stores. Using personal chef services you'd be saving 8-16 hours of time per week.
My fees:
Three hour minimum.
$60.00/hour, including 30 minutes for shopping time.
5 dishes would include 2 mains and 3 sides -approximately 5 hours
3 dishes would include 2 mains and 1 side or 3 mains -approximately 3 hours
Delivery $10, or you can pick up.
Main courses: a protein/vegetarian dish or heavy stew
Sides: vegetables, grains, and occasionally a dessert (seasonal fruit based)
